energy literacy

Check out the work being done by my friends at

It's so true that nothing galvanises behaviour like clear, well-framed concepts. From that point of view green is a design challenge; making potentially awkward new goods and habits utterly normal and attractive. I've written before about the power of both language (eg 'jogging') and better information (eg counting calories)

In the summer they are planning a language/design project aiming to develop some definitive & intuitive standards for communicating about energy. Their panel will include an award winning poet, a leading 'lifestyle change psychology' academic & so on & is being supported by the likes of the RSA and BBC. Watch this space.
